May Newsletter!

Happy May my loves!

This month is National Women’s Health Care Month so I’m going to get into some of my favorite self care practices and rituals….

Los Leones Trail

located in the Palisades

Here in Southern California, the weather is starting to warm up. The sun is coming out and it’s time to spend more time outdoors. I’ve been enjoying weekly hikes in the Santa Monica Mountains. My favorite trail right now is Los Leones. It’s a moderate trail located in the Palisades. Easy parking and beautiful views. I highly recommend starting your weekend mornings with this hike and heading down to the beach after for a dip in the ocean. Spending time in nature is one of my favorite ways to reset and relax. It gives me a chance to disconnect from technology and tune in with myself.

This month I’m focusing on more home cooking and creating new spring recipes that will not only be delicious but also incorporate this season's produce. Eating foods that are in season are not only delicious but also help to regulate our body temperature for the season. Eating these foods will have a refreshing and cooling effect on the body as the weather becomes warmer. Head down to your local farmers market and pick up some of these goodies!

Fruits in Season:

 -Apples

 -Apricots

-Blackberries, Blueberries, Raspberries & Strawberries

-Cantaloupe

 -Cherries

 -Grapefruit, Lemon, Lime & Orange

-Nectarines, Peaches & Plums

Veggies in Season:

-Asparagus

 -Artichoke

 -Leaks

 -Radishes

 -Carrots

 -Peas

If you are suffering any allergies this spring, I highly recommend adding in Raw Local Honey (nature’s allergy shot) and Nettle Tea

Classical pilates

“The complete coordination of the mind, body, and spirit.” —Jospeh Pilates

I’m committing 5 days a week to movement. I tend to do 20-40 minutes a day of Pilates and a mile or two walking my pup. If you are someone who is curious about working out but don’t know where to start, start adding in just 10 minutes of something a day. It seems small but you can slowly layer in more and more. My movement practice is so important to me. Not only does it help me decompress and destress but it gives me energy and releases the stiffness in my body. Check out my site for more information. I teach in person and virtual lessons to all people, all bodies and all levels.

Dry Brushing

Remove dead skin, move your lymph, and boost your immune system.

OSEA

Natural & Non-Toxic Skincare

Skincare is one of my favorite self care rituals and I practice these rituals morning and night. The sun and water this season can make our skin dry and flakey. I’ve been adding my dry brushing routine at night before my shower to boost my lymph system and remove dead skin. My favorite post shower skin care products are the OSEA Undaria Algae Body Oil and the Undaria Body Butter. Super hydrating and nourishing for the skin but also clean and non-toxic. The skin is our largest organ and absorbs any product we put on it.

My podcast recommendation of the month is The Expanded Podcast by To Be Magnetic. This has been a favorite of mine for quite some time. If you are interested in manifestation, inner child work, healing, etc…. THIS IS FOR YOU! I highly recommend it! Give it a listen.

Thank you for reading my May newsletter and I hope you all have a wonderful month!
